Auditing the Site of a Large Cannabis Magazine Publisher

While this audit isn't too different from other audits we have inside SEO Blueprint, I should mention that it's quite...blunt.

I cover quite a few issues on the website, but I don't go into detail on each specific one like I normally would.

Why? Well, we have so many audits where I've pointed out similar issues that I don't want to bore you.

Instead, I've tried to focus more on the site as a whole - giving attention to the breadth of the website, rather than its depth.

Here's the link: https://seoblueprint.com/cannabis-publisher/

Still, I am honored to have been able to look at the site and if anything else, it's testament to our course that all of the problems found have individual videos covering them in a lot of depth.

There's also a special announcement around the 15 minute mark if you haven't been following the comments inside the course, that I can't wait to share with you!

Auditing the Travel Site of SEO Blueprint Member, Jeremy

We've just went live with a new website audit for 2021: This time looking at the personal travel site of SEO Blueprint member, Jeremy.

Jeremy clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to SEO and building sites - and the site is in a niche that's clearly personal to him - but I (Glen) still felt like I had some good suggestions to offer.

You can view the audit here: https://seoblueprint.com/travel-site-with-passionate/

Jeremy has built a great brand and has some incredible social proof, but some areas of the website could do with a little "polish" to help him make the most of the traffic he's getting.

Thanks for the opportunity to look at the site, Jeremy, and we wish you the best of luck with it going forward!

Episode Two of our 'Diagnosing Detailed' Series is Now Live

On the 19th of January we announced a brand new series where we would be diagnosing issues with our own website, Detailed.com, and fixing them along the way.

Today I'm happy to be sharing the second episode (the first can be found here), where I essentially "click around" and find everything I'm not happy with.

While this sounds random, it's a process we always implement for clients and is something we've used to find even non-SEO related issues they never new existed (but were very grateful to learn about).

An honest note to save your time: You're not likely to learn much regarding improving your own websites in this video. Rather, see this is as a video to see what I'm happy to critique about myself.

Here's the link: https://seoblueprint.com/diagnosing-finding-issues/

If you watch it all the way through, you'll also learn about a couple of tools on the Detailed website there's a good chance you didn't know existed.

P.S. Later today we're opening up SEO Blueprint for the first time in 9 months. If you know anyone who might benefit from the course, we would love it you passed it along (zero pressure, of course).

Our New SERP Scraper is Now Live for Windows and Mac (Beta)

Today I'm very excited to be sharing the first version of our SERP Scraper tool, OpenSearch, which was designed to replace URL Profiler which we feature in the course.

URL Profiler's tool no longer works, so we built our own, exclusively for members.

Here's a preview of how it looks (you may need to click 'display images' if you're viewing this in an email client):

We initially released this in our Facebook Group last week as a Mac only offering, but I'm happy to tell you the Windows version is now live.

Please note that this software is in beta (it's the first version) so we will look to improve it.

You can get the download links, and view our terms of use, here.

The 'terms of use' is a bit boring, we know, but we do have to point out that scraping search results is against Google's Terms of Service.

To help protect you, we purposefully limit how many keywords you can scrape search results for to 25 per term. We also have a 'random' timing option in place as well.

Wondering what you would do with a tool like this? You can learn more about what we previously taught over here, but you'll find many possible use cases in our entire on-site SEO blueprint.

We really hope you get value from this.

[New Series] Diagnosing Detailed: A Rankings-Recovery Follow Along

Today we released a new video inside of Blueprint but I'm not sending an email about it.

The opening is a little bit personal, but most importantly it's "just" the introduction to a series and doesn't have any actionable takeaways.

Don't get me wrong, it took a few days to put together and it's decently long (18 mins) but I respect your time and watching it should be pretty low on your to-do-list.

The summary is this: We're starting a new series on SEO Blueprint where we will be diagnosing and analysing all of the issues with our own website.

We'll be:

- Looking at log files for the first time inside the course
- Speeding up the site
- Finding and fixing (with code shown) dozens of on-site issues
- Harshly critiquing everything I think is wrong, and why
- and much more.

We've done so many mini audits on so many sites that it should be a nice change to take one project and actually get into the nitty gritty over multiple days / weeks like we would with a client site.

The link is here if you want to watch it, but I also want to clarify that this is absolutely not all that we have planned.

We've invested a lot of time and money into upcoming modules (and software) that will be launching in the first quarter of this year.

There's one project that I'm particularly proud of, which I have been internally documenting for years, that is finally organised and ready for me to start building.

This is just more of a "we're going to do this anyway, so why not document it?" take.

Thank you all for your patience with me in the second half of last year, and I look forward to making up for it with a lot of updates in 2021.

Increase your Affiliate Link CTR (And Other Community Gold)

One part of SEO Blueprint that we're incredibly proud of is our community. Not only via our Facebook Group (1,000+ discussions) but our below-video comments (1,600+) as well.

Early on we realised there were so many great discussions and incredible replies that were going to be easy to miss, so we created our /gold/ page to highlight them.

As more and more comments come in, we save them on a Trello board so that when we do update the page, we have quite a few comments to add at once.

Today we've refreshed the gold page, adding things like:

- Kevin's smart tip on getting more YouTube views
- How Purushottam increased clicks on his affiliate inks
- Glenn shared how he creates exceptional content for clients (even in niches he isn't familiar with)

There's much more, but part of the fun is in seeing all of the headlines on our gold page at once and clicking on those that interest you.

Thanks to all who stop by our community each and every day.

If you found value in someone's comments, please do let them know!

Our Community Ambassador Becomes the Director of SEO at Shopify

After a very rough year for me (Glen) offline - easily the worst of my life - things have admittedly been quiet regarding SEO Blueprint updates.

Because of this I made sure we didn't open the doors to the course during my personal inactivity -- even during what is typically a very lucrative Black Friday / Cyber Monday opportunity.

We have some huge updates coming before the doors open again - including some much requested software we're testing behind the scenes - that I can't wait to share with you.

That said, one person who was a huge help in the community during this time is Kevin Indig, who has been active and invaluable at times in our private Facebook Group.

Kevin was the SEO lead at G2.com when he started helping out, but with today's exciting news he is now Director of SEO at Shopify (!).

Shopify power millions of online stores and are currently trading at an all-time-high on the stock market.

If you missed it, Kevin actually did a great AMA (Ask Me Anything) in our Facebook Group, which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/seoblueprint/permalink/513903169297826/

Huge congrats to Kevin on a professional level, and an even bigger Thank You from me on a personal one.

You've been more help than you will know.

Shopify are lucky to have you.

Updating Our /gold/ Page With New Community Highlights

When we first launched SEO Blueprint in the middle of 2019, we thought having comments underneath each video would be enough to satisfy the personal aspect of our offering.

The idea being that we try to teach something to the best of our ability, but if you have any questions, we can help you right where (and when) you have them.

That said, creating a Facebook Group was by far the most requested update from our initial members, and I have to say I'm really glad we ended up launching one a few weeks later.

We'll pass 1,000 discussions in there this year, so we created our /gold/ page as a way to highlight the best of what's being shared.

We never personally committed to being in the group very often - I believe our obligation should be to answer comments inside the training - but it turns out that we've been in there 7 days per week for months (funny how that works).

That means we were able to bookmark a lot of great threads and comments, so have just added a dozen or so more to that page.

If you haven't checked it out yet, you can get it at the direct link, here: https://seoblueprint.com/gold/

And if you haven't yet introduced yourself and what you have going on, please feel free to do so here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/seoblueprint/permalink/419865448701599/

Thanks for being here!

We're Spending $5,000+ to Help Support Members During These Times

Right now the state of the economy is hurting (and scaring) a lot of people.

While some industries are thriving, many more are hurting, and many of you are in a position you never could have imagined just a few short weeks ago.

We thought of a number of ways we could give back and try to help, but I think more than anything right now, cash in the hand is king.

Because of that, we've settled on opening up a members-only marketplace, so we can all buy from - and sell to - each other. You can find it here.

It's already off to a great start, with over 140 comments.

We're personally committing to spending a minimum of $5,000 in response to replies in that very thread, and hope that other members who are doubling down during this uncertainty will find products, services and offerings they didn't know they needed (or didn't know you offered).

Come and join us and share what you have on offer, or take a look at how other members can help with what you're working on: https://www.facebook.com/groups/seoblueprint/permalink/522349818453161/.

It's already off to a great start, with people buying from (and selling to) each other. We would love to see you there.

Here's to hoping the measures we're all undertaking will prevail, and we'll come through this stronger than before.

We're Live with Our Second 'Ask Me Anything' (Plus a Cool Announcement)

Today we are hosting our second ever AMA (Ask Me Anything) which I hope you'll find awesome on its own, but that's not all...

...I also managed to snag this person in to help out in the SEO Blueprint Facebook group for the next few months, so you'll be seeing a lot more of them in the comments to your questions.

Our guest is none other than Kevin Indig, the Vice President of SEO and Content at G2.com. If you're not familiar with G2, they're in the competitive software reviews space, and pull in over a million visitors per month from Google.

There's a lot more that I could say about Kevin, but instead I would love for you to come and join us and ask your questions.

You can do so over here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/seoblueprint/permalink/513903169297826/

Thank you!
