Our New Website Crawler is Now in Beta and Ready for Testing
At the end of last year, Apple made an update to MacOS which caused some issues with the Desktop website crawler we had created for all members.
It was never intended to be a replacement for tools which people work on full-time, but there to offer a quick audit of any website when you're in a pinch or if you don't have a huge budget.
Unfortunately as I have no personal skills in creating desktop software, it hasn't been the easiest thing to keep updating.
Luckily, we have a solution, and we've been making incredible progress on our (free) web-based site crawler for all members.
Here's a little teaser of what it looks like:
Right now it's good for finding key issues on websites just a few thousand pages (at most).
Fortunately there are ways to build this in that it could handle 10,000+ URLs per crawl, but we want to make sure everything makes sense and it's useful before going too far.
If you have interest in trying it out, please send an email to hey@detailed.com with your account Username and we'll give you access to v1.
We have lots more exciting updates going live in 2025, but it's good to share this first :)Thank you!
